Hello! My name is Irene Banks and Design Logica, LLC is a consulting firm I founded in 2019.  I help people who want to improve their living or work spaces but either don't have the time or the confidence to tackle the projects on their own. I bring a multi-faceted perspective to my work. I have had a successful career at various corporations in the northeastern United States specializing in finance and technology. These roles taught me key skills that help me think both creatively and realistically about space and how people interact in it. From my finance roles, I learned how to manage a budget. From my technology roles, I learned how technology helps people be more effective and productive in their daily lives. And in all my corporate experiences, I learned how people interact with their physical space to get work done.

Since early childhood, I have been interested in art and for most of my life I studied classical ballet. I always knew my path would eventually lead to a creative job. In 2010 I returned to school to study design at New England School of Art & Design at Suffolk University. Earning my Master of Arts in Interior Architecture was no mean feat. I commuted over a hundred miles one-way to Boston twice a week after working a full-time job during the day. I studied fine arts, digital design, space planning, and lighting design. Upon completion of my degree, I was a designer at a leading home interiors retailer. By 2019, I was ready to start my own firm and create a role in which I would have the autonomy needed to best help my growing client base.

"Where creativity meets common sense" is the tagline I use to describe how I best help people. I take the mystery out of the design process and ensure that my clients feel heard, respected, and satisfied. I am most gratified with a participatory process that leads to the creation of a space that functions well and captures the client's personality. I would love to work with you regardless of the size of the project. Starting with a simple, one-hour consultation through to a complex project, no question or budget is too small to receive my attention to detail and eagerness to help. If you live within a hundred-mile radius of Hartford, Connecticut, I can provide an in-person consultation at your home or office. Or, I can provide remote consultation by using collaboration technology. Use the Book Online tool to schedule your first session. Or join the mailing list to keep up to date with the services Design Logica provides. I look forward to hearing from you!
